Plans have finalized for our 2011 Beijing road trip, so now is the time to gear up for if you plan to join us. China is without a doubt our best trips of all time. This year we will be doing both a full rules and goodwill rules team with both teams playing against veteran Chinese teams in Beijing and Tainjin. The full rules team will be playing against veteran teams and some of the lower level college teams that usually don't get to play against foreign teams. The goodwill rules team will be playing goodwill rules (no stealing or passed balls) against veteran Chinese teams of similar age and skill. Offering extensive sightseeing and baseball camaraderie, we are now signing up players for this exciting trip. Don't miss out on our 2011 oriental baseball adventure.
The 2011 China Road Trip
Is baseball an all American game? In 1863 a group of homesick American expatriates in Shanghai organized Asia's first baseball or bangqui club. In the 1970's Chinese government propaganda declared "the baseball movement" an important part of Mao Tse-tung's revolutionary sports program since it encouraged "diligent study of Marxism, Leninism and Mao Tse-tung Thought". Historians claim that Chinese authorities praised the game because it taught soldiers how to throw grenades. And you thought it was just catch it, throw it, and hit it!
