Information On Our Trip To China

    The requirements are simple.  First, the ability and desire to play baseball in a unique international setting.  Second, an interest in international goodwill and sportsmanship (e.g. if you swing the bat at the ump after a called strike three, please try rotisserie baseball).  Third, a historical interest in the sites, sounds, and images of past and present China.  Sound interesting?

    What’s involved in this once in a lifetime opportunity? First, you will depart America on September 2nd and arrive in Beijing the next day where I will personally met you at the airport with the team bus that will take you to our palatial hotel, the Swissotel. After a night of rest we will begin our baseball exploits playing six games against veteran and college teams in Beijing and Tainjin.

    We will also spend the non-game daytime hours sightseeing in China where we will visit Tianamen Square, the Great Wall of China, Ming’s Tomb, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, Silk Alley, Tainjin and many more sights!

China Tour 2011 Costs And Other Details

     By now you are probably asking yourself how you could be so lucky to have the opportunity of a lifetime and play baseball in China? Well, it’s time to come back to earth as every dream has its price, but this one’s reasonable. The cost for each player in a double room is $1895.  This includes the welcome reception with Chinese baseball officials, ALL hotels, ALL daily meals, ALL baseball games, ALL sightseeing tours, ALL daily ground transportation, and ALL airport transportation. Wish to bring the wife, girlfriend, children, friends, etc.? The cost for non-players is $1795. Single rooms are an additionally  $475.

    What isn’t included in this wonderful invitation? Four basic things. First, you are free to choose your own airline to travel to China as no airfare is included in the above prices. Delta, United, American, Japan Air, and Air China (to name few) all offer flights to Beijing from the USA with fall sales expected to be $750 to $850 (don't buy tickets yet as prices are not yet discounted for fall). Once the trip fills we'll let you know its okay to buy plane tickets and we'll also let you know when airlines start fall sales.

    Second, you must get your own passport if you do not already have one or if yours has expired. If you don't have one, apply as soon as you can as it’s required for the third item you must acquire, a visa to visit China. Upon reserving a space on this trip you will be provided with a formal invitation from the Chinese Baseball Federation to visit China and a Visa request form. Once filled out and submitted to the Chinese Embassy in Washington, you will receive a visa valid for entry in October. 

    Finally, each player will be responsible for bringing their own uniforms, bat, batting helmet, and 12 LEATHER baseballs. You will be free to trade your bats and helmets at the end of the tour if you wish, but the baseballs go to Baseball International once you arrive in Beijing.

    We are taking a full rules team and a goodwill rules team this year. We are only taking 12 players per team and each player must apply by position.
